Naming The Site's Resident Macaw
Every corner of this site needed a bit of life in it beyond carved stone, so early on I added a macaw perched somewhere on most pages. It started as a small decorative flourish and ended up being the closest thing the site has to a mascot, without ever being asked to carry any weight beyond that.
A few people have asked what it's called. Honestly, it was never given a proper name — it felt more right as a fixture of the temple than as a character with its own story. Naming it would have made it the center of attention, and the temple itself was always meant to hold that spot instead.
It does turn up in odd places if you look — perched on a torch bracket near the games list, half-hidden among the vines on the legal pages, occasionally glancing sideways on a loading screen. None of it changes how any game plays. It's purely there for a bit of warmth.
If anything, it's a reminder that a small site like this doesn't need much to feel like somewhere rather than something. One bright bird, drawn consistently across the pages, does more for the feel of the place than another few lines of description ever could, and it costs nothing in loading time either.
