Deciding Which Game Gets Today's Spotlight
The idea of surfacing a different game each day came early on, mostly because the full list felt like too much to take in at once on a first visit. Giving one game a bit of extra spotlight seemed like a gentler way in — somewhere to start rather than a wall of choices.
For a while I picked the daily game entirely at random, which sounded fair until a run of similar games kept turning up together — three card-based games in a row, say, with none of the dice or wheel games getting a look-in. That felt like an oversight rather than genuine variety.
Now there's a loose rotation behind it, cycling through the different families of games — reels, wheels, cards, tiles and dice — before repeating. It still leaves room for a bit of variation week to week, but it stops the same handful of games hogging the spotlight while others sit unnoticed.
Every game stays fully playable regardless of what's featured that day, so nothing is ever actually locked behind the rotation. It's really just a small nudge towards a game you might not have tried yet, rather than any kind of ranking of one over another.
