Sorting Out The Torch-Lit Corridors
The early layout of the site had every game listed in one long row, which worked but never felt much like a temple — more like a corridor with no doors. I spent a stretch of evenings reorganising things into sections instead, so moving between game types feels more like walking from one chamber into the next.
Getting the ordering right took a few tries. Reels and wheels near the front made sense as an entrance hall; the card and table games felt right further in, as though you'd need to walk a bit further to reach them. The tile and dice games ended up tucked into their own side passage, which somehow feels exactly right.
I also spent longer than expected on the small transition moments between sections — nothing flashy, just enough of a pause that moving from one part of the temple to another doesn't feel instant. It's a small thing most people probably won't consciously notice, but it's the sort of detail that holds the whole feel together.
There's still a corridor or two I'm not fully happy with, mostly around how the legal pages sit alongside everything else. That's a job for another evening, though — the temple's layout is never really finished, just less unfinished than it was last month.
